‘Well-regulated’ is key to gun control debate
Much of the argument around the new gun control law centers on the Second Amendment. Isn’t that amendment prefaced by “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state …”?
Regulation might include banning assault rifles. Regulation might include banning 30-round clips. Regulation might include requiring liability insurance for the misuse of the weapon. Regulation might include background checks with periodic updates. Regulation might include firearm training.
If you want one of these weapons, the Second Amendment might want you to join a well-regulated militia.
