Drive-through windows waste gas, pollute world

Many of us who complain of $4-per-gallon gasoline should think about helping themselves and their environment by refusing to sit for 5 or 10 minutes in drive-through coffee shops, banks and other establishments with their motors idling the entire time. With millions of cars, trucks and SUVs idling for a cumulative number of hours every day, think of the wasted gallons of gasoline, not to mention the unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions polluting our atmosphere.

Also, the exercise of getting in and out of our vehicles would do all of us some good. Drive-throughs also cause traffic problems, making it more difficult to navigate your car into a parking space because of the line of cars wrapped around the building, not to mention the difficulty for people trying to enter these establishments. Remove these wasteful strips of pavement and plant grass and trees instead.
