Norma O. Chandler, an artist and retired teacher, died Monday in her Williamsville home. She was 99.
A Niagara County native, the former Norma O. Blake was a 1935 graduate of Buffalo State Teachers College and earned a master’s degree magna cum laude from the University of Buffalo in 1961.
Mrs. Chandler taught for many years in the Cheektowaga Central School District, primarily kindergarten at Alexander Street School.
A talented artist, she sold many of her works and shared others with family and friends.
She and her husband of 65 years, Jack A., a professional pianist and music arranger, moved to Florida in 1976. She returned to the Buffalo area after his death in 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith Lobuzzetta, and a son, James.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, 9535 Clarence Center Road, Clarence Center.
