Bridal portraits reveal a master photographer

As a photography teacher at Iroquois Central High School, I was absolutely enthralled to read Charity Vogel’s story about Ettore Porreca and his “Lost Portraits.” Though the story about finding the brides of these photos is very interesting, I found myself overwhelmed in just looking at those portraits. His use of light and shadows in addition to the intricate posing was awesome. There is no doubt Porreca posed every head, hand and finger to produce such excellence.

Though I do not know Porreca personally, he certainly gave all of us portrait photographers a lesson on the way images should look as seen through the eyes of a master.
