Voters, not big money, should decide elections

Although I’m delighted that the pro-NRA candidate didn’t win the primary election to replace Jessie Jackson Jr. in Chicago, I deplore the way she lost. I find it more than alarming that one very wealthy person, geographically far removed from Chicago, can influence an election simply by throwing his money at it.

This interference is equally as deplorable as the financial interference of corporations and super-rich individuals with an agenda in the general election.

It is long past time for election laws to be changed. Individual voters should determine elections. Money should not!
