Let’s not waste millions on Richardson Complex
The letter writer who worked at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center is exactly correct. The center is a reminder of man’s inhumanity to man. Caging men and women because of mental illness was convenient, but irresponsible. Saving the Richardson Complex is equally irresponsible.
Other “hospitals” have been torn down because they cost too much to maintain, and their functionality was obsolete. Spending hundred of millions of taxpayers’ dollars for future development is equally irresponsible. Preservationists might better use their time and their money to fight for other projects.
