Hackley School of Tarrytown (23-2) held Immaculata’s Taylor Heinold to a total of nine points and shot 86 percent in building a 25-8 first-quarter lead, defeating the Bears, 67-51, for the NASIS girls basketball championship at Fieldston School in the Bronx on Sunday. Kathryn Halloran led Immaculata (21-5) with 11 points. Rayann Call and Jordan Heinold had 10 each.

GYMNASTICS: It was the same top three leading the State Public Schools Gymnastics Championships at Smithtown East on Long Island on Saturday. However, the order was rearranged. Section VI won the sectional team competition a year ago with Section III (Syracuse area) second and Section XI (Suffolk County) third. This time Section VI dropped to third and the other two moved up. Section VI had 180.4 points, behind Section III’s 182.35.

Courtney Bondanza (Lancaster), who was first on the beam and second all-around last year, finished eighth in all-around this time and 14th on beam. Ana Reyes of Williamsville East had the best finish of the Section VI girls, with a tie for fourth on bars.

CORRECTION: In Saturday’s State Indoor Track and Field Championship story, the name of Frontier’s McKyla Brooks was spelled incorrectly. It was also incorrectly reported she competed in the shot put. Brooks finished second in the triple jump (37-9¼), fourth in the long jump and fifth in the 55-meter dash for public schools.
