Orleans Community Health/Medina Memorial Hospital named Joseph C. DiStasio, controller. DiStasio, a CPA, previously served as controller for The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care and was chief operating officer of Rupp, Baase. He is a Canisius College graduate.

Liazon Corporation appointed David Finkel chief operating officer. Finkel recently served as chief operating officer at Inovalon, a health care data analytics firm. A University of Rochester graduate, he has an MBA from Baruch College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

The New York State Association of REALTORS elected Margaret Hartman its 2013 president and James Knight III vice president. Hartman will serve a one-year term in the post. She is the Lancaster office sales manager and associate broker for RealtyUSA in the Buffalo region. Knight is an associate broker with RealtyUSA in Buffalo.

The BISON Scholarship Fund named Amy E. Popadick executive director. The BISON Fund, founded in 1995, is a privately funded scholarship program for low-income kindergarten through eighth grade children to attend a private school of choice. Popadick was director of admissions at Holy Angels Academy. She earned a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Canisius College.

ABC-Amega Inc. named Jason Szwed divisional vice president, outsourcing. Szwed, who joined the company in 2007, holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Medaille College. The firm also named Krista Glenn director of marketing. Glenn was marketing manager for Buffalo Lodging Associates for 10 years. She holds an MBA from Canisius College and a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo.

Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation promoted Denise Juron-Borgese to director of development and planning, and appointed Brad A. Packard development project manager. Juron-Borgese, who is currently overseeing the development of Conventus, Ciminelli’s $100 million medical office building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, is a licensed architect in New York State, graduated from UB and earned a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Packard is a University at Buffalo graduate.

M&T Bank promoted Shelley C. Drake to senior vice president. Drake is also chairman and president of the M&T Charitable Foundation. A graduate from the University at New York, her previous title was group vice president.

American Red Cross, Western New York Region appointed Kenneth Turner chief program officer. Turner was senior director of emergency services. He is a graduate of Buffalo State College. He also works as an NCAA Division I college basketball referee.

Ernst and Young promoted Michael Swope to assurance manager and Elizabeth Hoffman to tax manager. Swope and Hoffman are both CPAs and received their bachelor’s and MBA degrees from St. Bonaventure University.

Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Buffalo re-elected Mark J. Mendel board chair. Mendel is senior vice president, customer asset management at M&T Bank. Mendel has an MBA from Syracuse University and is a CPA. Also, Jason Houseman was elected to the board. Houseman is commercial relationship manager at First Niagara Bank. Houseman has an MBA from the University at Buffalo School of Management.

C.S. Kimeric, a commercial and industrial water treatment service company, appointed Gregory Mis general manager. Mis is an Erie Community College graduate.
