FORESTVILLE – Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies charged a man with drunken driving Saturday in Forestville.

Hugh J. Sowers, 60, of Route 39, Forestville, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies said they were looking for Sowers, after investigating the report of an altercation on Route 39 at about 4:30 Saturday.

Deputies located his vehicle a short time later, as he pulled into a parking lot in the village. Authorities said Sowers was drunk and consuming alcohol while in his vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in Town of Hanover Court at a later date.
