Look for some little-seen Three Stooges shorts on the big screen when the second annual winter version of the Three Stooges Film Festival kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Riviera Theatre (67 Webster St., North Tonawanda).

“The [film including] Shemp that we are showing, we have not shown before, and even a couple of the Curlys we have either never showed, or haven’t showed them in the past few years,” says Lenny Potwora, creator and organizer of the annual film festival, whose late August incarnation has been held for 21 years.

An organ concert by Peter DiGioia on the Mighty Wurlitzer will begin at 7 p.m., followed by seven Stooge shorts. Potwora selects the films from those made by Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard, with Shemp Howard, Joe Besser and Curly Joe DeRita filling in after Curly Howard fell ill in 1946.

Tickets ($10 adults, $7 children 12 and under), are available at the door, at Hollywood Collectables in the McKinley Mall, online at or by calling 692-2413. For more information, call Potwora at 432-6827.
