NIAGARA FALLS – A Niagara Falls woman was shot in the face Sunday night during a dispute on Cedar Avenue.

Ebony Starks, 25, of Ninth Street was treated and released from Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a man shot at her, causing a bullet to graze the left side of her face, Niagara Falls Police Capt. William M. Thomson, chief of detectives, said today.

Starks stepped out of her vehicle at 8 p.m. Sunday on Cedar Avenue near 10th Street to confront two men in another vehicle, who were looking for her boyfriend, Thomson said.

“They apparently had some type of dispute with her boyfriend and she was trying to tell them he wasn’t with her and then [one of the men] just shot her,” Thomson said.

A male suspect, who has been identified, is still being sought by detectives, he said.
