The history and the future of the nuclear fuel-reprocessing facility in West Valley will be the topic of a public meeting at 7 p.m. today in the auditorium of the Central Library in Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo.

The Sierra Club Niagara Group, which is sponsoring the program with half a dozen other environmental groups, hopes to raise awareness of the potential dangers of radioactive waste at the West Valley site and make sure that the public has a role in deciding what to do about removing the waste.
