The Buffalo Junior Sabres 12-under team’s run in the Quebec Pee Wee International Tournament is over.

The Junior Sabres dropped a 4-3 overtime decision in the quarterfinals to the Philadelphia Junior Flyers on Saturday afternoon. The Junior Sabres’ loss eliminated them from the tournament.

Joel Farabee – who was named to the all-tournament team – had a goal and an assist, while Spencer Frome and Cameron Trejchel also scored for Buffalo, an all-star team sponsored by the Buffalo Sabres and their Alumni Association consisting of top Pee Wee-aged players from the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse area.

Kyle Peters scored the game-winner at 4:59 of overtime for Philadelphia.

Counting exhibition games during the Junior Sabres’ weeklong participation in the tournament, Buffalo posted a 6-2 record with wins over national No. 2 Detroit Honeybaked, St. Louis and the New York Rangers’ Elite along the way.
