Buffalo News outdoor writer Will Elliott has been awarded the 2012 American Crossbow Federation Bill Hilts Sr. Award, which is presented “for outstanding dedication and service in promoting the crossbow and the crossbow hunting opportunity.”

Bill Hilts Sr., a Sanborn resident, presented this award to Elliott during the awards luncheon/dinner following the Niagara River Anglers Association’s Annual Roger Tobey Memorial Winter Steelhead Tournament on Feb. 6 at the 3-F Club in Lewiston.

During the tourney, Elliott won first place as a competitor in the NRAA event. Paul Jackson, NRAA president, presented the tournament award along with the Bill Hilts Sr. award honor that afternoon.
