School had to teach teen because his parents didn’t

I am in total agreement with Donn Esmonde’s column of Feb. 17 regarding the West Seneca student. Instead of calling WIVB-TV about the five-day suspension, the parents should have decided on additional punishment of their own.

First, he was kicked out of a school hockey game for getting rowdy, and then he f-bombed the teacher on Twitter. Now the parent sits there in front of the TV camera as if her son is being mistreated. He needs to be taught respect and good manners. Obviously it must be done by the school, because the parents have failed to do so.
