ALBANY – There are plenty of Western New York wrestlers who have a shot at turning state title dreams into reality, but some will have go through others today in semifinal matches at the Times Union Center for that to happen.

In Division II, Cheektowaga’s Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer faces Fredonia’s Tyler Cassidy in the 132-pound semifinal. This is a showdown between wrestlers who were ranked 1-2, respectively, in Western New York before the Section VI tournament, won by the unbeaten and nationally ranked Rodriguez-Spencer.

Also in Division II, 145-pounder Drew Hull of Roy-Hart faces Jude Gardner of Fredonia in a rematch of the sectional final won, 1-0, by Hull.

Others advancing to the semifinals in Division II include Maple Grove’s Brad Bihler (106), Fredonia’s Dakota Gardner (126), Lew-Port’s Daniel Reagan (138), Eden’s Alex Smythe (152) and Medina’s Matt Montesanti (285).

In Division I, Lancaster’s Steven Michel (120) and Eric Lewandowski (145) and Williamsville South’s Anthony Liberatore (182) reached the semifinals.
