As part of the “My Health Counts!” series, WNED-TV will air “e-Patients” at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The show will feature: Susan Hunt, host; Lygeia Ricciardi, senior policy adviser for Consumer e-Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and David deBronkart, a blogger who became an advocate for health care transformation.

Together they will discuss how personal health records can interact with email and social networking sites to help patients make better decisions about health and health care.

Of note is cancer survivor DeBronkart, who shares his story of how an online network of fellow cancer patients ultimately helped to save his life.

Following at 10:30 p.m. is a rebroadcast of “Colorectal Cancer Screening Saves Lives.” The program features two gastroenterologists: Dr. Christopher Bartolone and Dr. Andrew Bain.

The program includes personal stories from people affected by colon cancer, including WGRZ-TV reporter Heather Ly, whose mother died at age 58 from colon cancer.
