Desiderio’s Dinner Theatre, a labor of love relaunched by brothers Jay and Bob Desiderio in 2008 and headquartered in their eponymous Lancaster restaurant (5827 Broadway), will open a production of Jack Sharkey’s 1974 comedy “Roomies” on Saturday.

The play is a tale of mistaken identity in the mode of a classic farce, with a bit of gender-bending thrown in for good measure. It tells the story of one Hal Mastik, whose plans to marry the fabulously wealthy heiress to an emerald mine go awry when his sexy former college roommate unexpectedly appears. Hilarity, it has been suggested in the press materials, ensues.

The show stars Sara Kow Falcone, Scott Mackmin, Justin Fiordaliso, Claudia Gioia and Rob Dziechciarz. Tickets range from $34 to $44, depending on what you order for dinner. The show runs on most Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with dinner at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30. Call 683-7767 for reservations or more information.
