Anthony A. Schifano of Angola and Port Richey, Fla., a retired Ford Motor Co. employee and former bicycle shop owner, died Tuesday at the home of one his sons in York, Pa. He was 81.

Born in Farnham, Mr. Schifano, known as Tony, was a graduate of Silver Creek High School. He served four years in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955.

After his military service, he worked as a dispatcher at Interstate Trucking Co. while attending college.

In 1957, he joined the Ford Motor Co., where he worked in several salaried positions, including in plant engineering, accounting and human resources, until his retirement in 1988.

In 1970, he opened “Schifano’s Service Shop,” specializing in bicycle repairs. The business was colloquially known as the Angola Bike Shop and was closed in the late 1980s.

In 1993, he and his wife purchased a second home in Port Richey, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Angeline Simon; two sons, Mark A. and Donald J.; and a sister, Marie Terreri.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 2017 Halley Road, North Collins.
