Medaille coach Mike MacDonald was able to clear his bench as 16 Mavericks played in Tuesday night’s 97-68 victory over visiting Mount Aloysius in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference quarterfinal playoff game at the Sullivan Center.

Jammal Coleman had 23 points for No. 4 seed Medaille, which will face No. 1 Hilbert in the semifinals at 6 p.m. on Friday at Hilbert.

No. 2 LaRoche will face No. 3 Penn State-Behrend in the other semi at 8 p.m.

HOCKEY: It’s playoff time at Buffalo State as the men’s team hosts Fredonia at 7 tonight in a State University of New York Athletic Conference quarterfinal.

The Bengals, seeded fourth, swept the two-game season series from the fifth-seeded Blue Devils (7-15-3, 5-9-2 SUNYAC), most recently beating Fredonia, 4-2, last Friday at the Buffalo State Ice Arena to secure the No. 4 seed.

Buffalo State (12-11-2, 7-8-1 SUNYAC) is led by former Niagara-Wheatfield star Nick Melligan, who has 11 goals and 27 points. Team captain Mike Zanella has a team-high 15 goals and 24 points.
