Acropolis owner Paul Tsouflidis’ application for a live music license was denied by the Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday.

Six Elmwood Village residents spoke against the application, and one supported it. Delaware Council Member Michael J. LoCurto also sent a letter the board objecting to it.

“I’m not trying to be a nightclub, I’m trying to have nightlife,” Tsouflidis told the board.

In other action, the board approved a live music license for one year for the Hertel Lounge at 1669 Hertel Ave., with the condition the music be restricted to 8 p.m. to midnight on Fridays.

A height variance for Conventus, a new medical office building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus at 1001 Main St., also was approved by the board.
