Why make such a fuss about winter weather?

Every year winter begins in December and, if we’re lucky, ends in March. Permanent residents of this area should know what to expect this time of year.

Why do the local meteorologists and news reporters stand outside to measure snowfall, wind gusts and rain, especially when they are warning people to stay indoors? It makes no sense.

Weather happens every day of the year, and winter is nothing rare for this area. Look out your window and you’ll get your forecast.

When it snows in Puerto Rico, the reporters can go there to tell us the conditions. Then we can all get excited.
