Peter Maduri, who coaches the Tonawanda High bowling team, showed his bowlers how it’s done Sunday, winning the Tri-City Masters championship at Island Lanes on Grand Island.

After disposing of former champions John Masiello and Mike Hanes, Maduri defeated Mike Bedford of Lockport, 389-375, in the two-game total pinfall championship match. Maduri defeated Ron Sutton, 446-357 in his first match before defeating Masiello, 457-379, and edging Hanes, 427-426. The winner’s purse was $1,000. Hanes defeated top qualifier Matt Ciminelli, 381-360, in Round 2. Tony Dolan won the Niagara Falls masters title by advancing to Round 4.
