The second in a series of free seminars on how to improve the conditions of the housing stock in the town’s Lake Erie Beach community will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Lake Erie Beach Fire Hall, 9483 Lakeshore Road.
The housing series, which began last March, is one of the recommendations in the town’s 2010 plan to trigger more investment in the Lake Erie Beach community. That area – bounded by Herr Road, Old Lake Shore Road, Reeves Road and Route 5 – has more than 1,200 homes and some of the oldest in Evans.
“We have seen positive changes in the community over the last two years; however, the current economic conditions have made improving the condition of the current housing stock much more challenging,” said Lori A. Szewczyk, the town’s director of community development. “We hope to educate the community about the various resources that are available.”
The event is sponsored by the Town of Evans, Evans Bank and the Lake Erie Beach Fire Co.
Registration begins at 6:15 p.m.
Space is limited, so those interested in attending are asked to reserve a seat by calling Szewczyk at 549-3915 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
