The Springville-Griffith School Board agreed to offer a resignation incentive to its staff this year as a cost-savings measure.
At the board meeting Tuesday, Business Administrator Ted Welch said employees of all five bargaining units would be eligible provided they have worked a minimum of three years in the district.
The incentive would place a premium on the workers’ accumulated unused sick leave. The exact benefit, Welch said, will be determined by the number of employees who participate. He anticipates workers could receive between $130 and $170 per day – a substantially higher amount than without the incentive, depending on the bargaining unit. Last year, 14 employees took part in the resignation incentive. This is the third consecutive year the offer has been extended to district employees.
