Loss of Hochul is a blow to the region

People of Niagara County, especially the City of Lockport and along 18 Mile Creek, lost a great friend when Kathy Hochul was not re-elected. Before she was elected the first time, she took time to meet two Republican women and took the information I gave her on pollution. Once elected, she pushed for the cleanup of 18 Mile Creek. She got it on both federal and state Superfund lists.

When I brought it up at a council meeting, someone said, “Oh well, it will probably be another 20 years before anything is done.” I responded, “That still would be more than they did.” No response. I personally would want my legacy to be saving people’s lives instead of spending their money.

Hochul also got Leon Panetta to come to the Niagara Falls air base, maybe saving jobs in Niagara County. With her busy schedule, she still had time to cheer up a friend. I wish her well in any new endeavor.
