Country needs to take better care of veterans

This past week, I spent time in the Buffalo VA hospital where my daughter was having surgery. I have always been a very strong supporter of the VA and everything it does for our veterans. Unfortunately, this was not one of those days. I was appalled at the amount of cold, freezing air that was coming through the windows on the fifth floor, Wing A, the Ambulatory Surgical Wing. The blankets that were rolled up and placed on the bottom of the windows did little to dampen the cold air flow.

I find it unconscionable that our veterans, as well as staff members, are subjected to this type of environmental condition. Our country spends billions and billions of dollars propping up a corrupt government in Afghanistan, yet we cannot provide proper windows that do not leak in a VA hospital? This is outrageous!
