HANOVER – The town is preparing to make several improvements to the wastewater treatment facility.
Letters will be sent to all people who own property in the district in early March. Supervisor Todd Johnson said property owners can expect to have several opportunities to ask questions of Town Board members or town officials about the scope and nature of the work.
At Monday’s board meeting, Johnson said the work will be done in four phases with no expected service interruptions. He said construction crews will work around the summer schedule that brings hundreds of residents and visitors to Hanford and Sunset bays.
One of the major improvements will be upgrades to the processing system and changes that will compress waste instead of having it dry in beds. Johnson said the improvements will give the town room to bring in more customers to use the waste water system.
