Don’t offer amnesty to illegal immigrants

Amnesty didn’t work in the 1980s and it won’t stop illegal immigration now. The U.S. government gave amnesty to 3 million illegal immigrants in the ’80s. It was supposed to fix the problem and was a one-time deal.

Now the U.S. government is thinking of offering amnesty again to 11 million more. When something doesn’t work, you don’t do it again.

America used to be a country of laws, but the U.S. government is hesitant or unwilling to enforce certain laws.

Illegal immigration is not just a few people, it is a mass problem of 11 million-plus, which costs taxpayers for health care, education, lost jobs, etc. It is also a safety issue with gangs, drugs and crime. No other country would allow illegal mass immigration!

The very first thing all immigrants should be able to do is read, write and speak English. The Bill of Rights, the Constitution and all American laws were written in English, not other languages.

If amnesty is given to illegal aliens for breaking laws, then everybody in jail or prison should also receive amnesty; otherwise, amnesty is creating discrimination.
