Scott Davidson Vershay, an account manager at Domtar, died unexpectedly Friday in his North Buffalo home. He was 54.

A native of North Tonawanda, Mr. Vershay graduated from Amherst High School in 1977 and from Norwich University in 1981.

He worked at a family-owned furniture company, Maddox Table, in Jamestown in the early 1980s.

In 1984, he began working in the paper industry and was employed by Domtar Inc., where he was an account manager for the past 10 years. A sports enthusiast, Mr. Vershay was a member of Crag Burn Golf Club.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, the former Mary Louise Bermel; his parents, Donald A. and Patricia B.; one daughter, Madalyn E.; one son, Wilson D.; and two sisters, Donna Vershay Duvall and Deanna Donnelly.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Amherst Community Church, 77 Washington Highway, Snyder.
