A cabbie was robbed at gunpoint Saturday while picking up a fare several blocks east of Buffalo’s Cobblestone District, city police reported.

The cab driver told South District officers that he was picking up two passengers just after 9 p.m. when two men jumped into his cab as it was parked outside 279 Perry St., near Chicago Street.

One man pointed a black, long-barreled gun at the driver, who handed over $350 cash, his cell phone and a set of keys, before the two robbers fled. No injuries were reported.

The incident was captured by a video surveillance camera and police took the cab to the department’s garage on Seneca Street to collect evidence from the vehicle.
