BATAVIA – A knife-wielding robber held up a Town of Batavia beauty supply store shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday, Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies said.

The masked robber targeted Sally Beauty Supply, 4662 Veterans Memorial Drive, and demanded money from an employee at the cash register, as well the purse of the cashier, whose hands and feet were bound, authorities said.

The robber fled and warned the cashier not to alert authorities for five minutes. The bandit fled in a vehicle parked at the parking lot of Towne Center at Batavia, deputies said.

The cashier was uninjured. An undetermined amount of money was taken.

Deputies said they are looking for a light-colored, 2002-07 Jeep Cherokee with a New York State gold-and-blue license plates.
