POMFRET – A stolen urn containing the cremated remains of a Town ofn Pomfret man is home again.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office said the bronze urn, which was taken during a burglary April 3 at a home on Van Buren Road, reappeared in a paper bag on the homeowner's porch late last week.

Investigators said the bronze urn is shaped like a dolphin swimming among waves and that the burglar who took it may have thought it was a piece of art. The widow of the man whose remains are in the urn found it when she went out Thursday morning to walk her dogs.

No arrests have been made.
