WHEATFIELD – A Niagara Falls man was charged with felony drunken driving about 2 a.m. Saturday after he was discovered asleep at the wheel of his idling car in the parking lot of a Williams Road gas station Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.
Dennis M. Crittenden, 39, of McKoon Avenue had his license suspended or revoked on seven occasions dating to 2002, for offenses ranging from failure to submit to a breath test to failure to pay child support, deputies said. Crittenden also was charged with felony counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway.
A clerk from the business contacted authorities initially. Deputies said that wehn they arrived, Crittenden was observed asleep at the wheel, his car stereo blaring, and a bottle of tequila nearby.
