ALBION – A Platt Street resident was arrested a variety of prescription pills were seized Tuesday following a police raid.

The raid at the residence of Diana L. Paone, 51, followed an eight-month investigation into the sale and distribution of prescription narcotic pills in Holley and Albion, officials with the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force said today.

Paone was charged with drug possession and sales charges, including six counts each of third-degree criminal sale and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; three counts of fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and nine counts of fourth-degree criminal diversion of prescription medication.

Investigators said they seized a variety of prescription narcotics, including hydrocodone, oxycodone and hydromorphone.

Paone was arraigned before Murray Town Justice Gary Passarell and ordered held in County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. A return court date was set for Monday.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests and charges are pending, task force officials said. Task force members conducted the raid with the Orleans County Multi-Agency SWAT team, the county Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, and Holley and Albion police departments.
