The Elmwood Village Association elected Christopher N. Ollinick vice president of its board. Ollinick is an associate in the tax, economic and land development and affordable house practice groups at Jaeckle Fleischmann and Mugel. He also serves as chairman of the association’s Economic Development Committee.


Hurwitz & Fine senior member Dan D. Kohane was honored at the Torts Insurance Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association annual dinner in New York City. Kohane received the John E. Leach Memorial Award, given in recognition of his outstanding service and distinguished contributions to the legal profession as a member of the TICL Section.


Lyn Haggerty, information and referral manager at Parent Network of Western New York, received certification from the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems program. Haggerty joined Parent Network in 2009 as a part-time information and referral specialist, and recently moved into full-time information and referral manager. She is the second person at Parent Network to receive an AIRS certification.

Free to members, BSCU’s new mobile banking service allows members to sign up to access the BSCU website and individual account information through their smartphones or other mobile devices. Members can access via a downloadable mobile banking app, from their Web browser or via text.


The BWI National Health Promotion Training Institute announces the addition of the National Association of Disease Management & Wellness Professionals as a BWI Health Promotion Affiliate. Health promotion and wellness industry certification courses are now available to NADMWP’s nurses and other health professional members, at discounted rates, as part of the goal to support individuals in a competitive job market through continuing education.


The John R. Oishei Foundation awarded a three-year funding commitment to Read to Succeed Buffalo’s early childhood literacy programs. The commitment totals $495,000. Funding will be used to help increase reading scores of low-income children birth through age 8.
