Louis C. DeBergalis, a former ironworker and owner of Rod Placing, died unexpectedly Saturday in his Cheektowaga home. He was 69.
Mr. DeBergalis was born and lived most of his life in Lovejoy. A graduate of Burgard Vocational High School, he worked out of Ironworkers Local 6.
Mr. DeBergalis and a brother, Rocco Jr., also co-owned Rod Placing, a steel reinforcing company started by his father, Rocco.
Mr. DeBergalis enoyed gardening, carving stone and cooking, and was a member of Big Timers Italian-American Club.
Survivors include his wife, Christine; two daughters, Tonya Balash and Jacquelyn Criola; a son, Jeffrey; his mother, Olympia; a sister, Mary Rose Gaughan; and two other brothers, Joseph and Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 118 Schiller St.
