Niagara’s men’s hockey team (17-4-5) has cracked the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll for the first time this season, sitting at 14th in the national top-15 poll. Last weekend’s sweep of Atlantic Hockey Association opponent Bentley pushed the Purple Eagles into the rankings for the first time since 2006-07, when they were No. 15 for one week.

Also, Niagara jumped up two positions to 15th in the USCHO.com poll for the second time this season, making it 11 weeks in a row the Purple Eagles have been ranked.

The NCAA Tournament Pairwise Comparison Ratings has NU tied for ninth with North Dakota.

Niagara will play Canisius at the Buffalo State Sports at 7:05 p.m. Thursday and then meet the Griffs again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Dwyer Arena.

A limited number of tickets for Saturday’s game are available at the Niagara ticket office inside Dwyer Arena, at www.PurpleEagles.com/Tickets, by calling 286-TIXX or emailing Tickets@PurpleEagles.com.
