Western New Yorkers swept the top-three spots in the women’s pole vault during the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, led by Olympic champion Jennifer Suhr of Fredonia.

Suhr won the title, clearing 15-feet, 7.25 inches. She finished more than eight inches ahead of runner-up Mary Saxer of Lancaster. Medina’s Janice Keppler took third (14-7.25). Suhr clipped the bar when she tried to set the American record.
