Election campaigns sorely need reform

Now that the election and inauguration are over, all we will hear about over the next few years is deficit reduction ceremonies. After going through one of the worst campaigns I can remember, I have a suggestion for both parties. Let’s do away with both national conventions, and scale down the parties at the inauguration. The amount of money saved on security and other items would be astronomical.

While we’re at it, let’s put a cap on super PAC spending so we don’t have to watch lie after lie every 10 minutes on our local channels. Keep the debates so the people can hear the candidates’ positions, but the rest is just for the Washington elites and bigwigs in each party. Enough is enough.
