FOOTBALL: The WNY football coaches association will hold its meetings and clinics Monday evenings in February and March at 7:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. The clinics will feature many coaches from colleges throughout the area, including the University at Buffalo’s Jeff Quinn. The clinics are free to members and $10 to non members. HIGH SCHOOL: The Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame is accepting applications for the newly created New Era Student Athlete Scholarship. The scholarship, which includes two $2,500 grants awarded to a deserving male and female, was created in 2012 to recognize high school athletes who excel not only in their athletic endeavors but in the classroom as well. MARTIAL ARTS: Two Western New York firefighters won the North East Mixed Martial Arts championship. Frank Scalzo from Niagara Falls and Pete Mazzeo from Buffalo won the titles on Friday in Binghamton. They will fight again March 2 in North Tonawanda.
