Three familiar names will take the ice at Dwyer Arena this weekend, although it’s up in the air how much playing time these goalies will receive when No. 17 Niagara hosts Bentley in an Atlantic Hockey Association two-game series in Lewiston.
Former Williamsville North star Branden Komm has started 21 games for the Bentley Falcons (11-11-1, 9-7-1), compiling a .916 save percentage, 2.96 goals-against average and 10-10 record. Blake Dougherty of East Amherst has started one game for Bentley, stopping 28 of 30 shots in a 2-2 tie with Air Force on Dec. 8.
Lockport native Chris Paulin recently joined Niagara, which has a 15-game unbeaten streak on home ice, as a backup to starting goalie Carsen Chubak, who leads the nation in shutouts (five) and ranks third in save percentage (.944).
Tonight’s 7 p.m. game will air on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel as well as 1440 AM.
