The list of Western New Yorkers in the NFL went up by one Wednesday when West Seneca’s Jeremy Kelley signed a reserve/futures contract with the Indianapolis Colts.

Kelley, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound receiver, spent the 2012 season with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League, making 19 catches for 231 yards and seven touchdowns in eight games. Kelley spent the 2011 season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, recording two receptions for 15 yards.

After graduating from West Seneca West, Kelley played four years at the University of Maine. He finished his collegiate career with 13 catches for 148 yards and a touchdown, and was also a special teams contributor.

Reserve/futures contracts are signed by players who were out of the NFL at the end of the 2012 season, or on a team’s practice squad. Players like Kelley with such contract will remain in “reserve” until the 2013 NFL league year starts March 12.
