Melissa S. Utley Dispenza of Amherst, a Rich Products employee, died Monday from injuries she suffered after being struck by a car while attempting to cross Niagara Street. She was 54.
Born and raised in Gowanda, she was a 1976 graduate of Gowanda Central High School and attended Brockport State College before transferring to Buffalo State College, where she earned a degree in biology.
Mrs. Dispenza had been employed at Rich Products for 28 years and, at the time of her death, worked in its Research and Development Department.
She was a Eucharistic minister at St. Benedict Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Paul; a daughter, Samantha; a son, Michael; her father, Richard; and five sisters, Deborah Germano, Melinda Hammond, Alison Connolly, Jennifer Comstock and Andrea Gandler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Benedict Church, 1317 Eggert Road at Main Street, Eggerstville.
