A Buffalo man was charged with gun, stolen property and other counts following his arrest Monday after a brief chase onto the Best Street overpass of the Thruway.
Officers received a call of gunshots fired on the first block of Fox Street, and when they responded they found a motorist who matched the description of the shooter. The man drove off and after a brief car chase abandoned the vehicle on Herman Street. He was captured after a foot chase to the overpass.
Officers said they found a loaded semiautomatic pistol under the front passenger seat, a stolen credit card and a counterfeit $10 bill.
The motorist, Arrian Rhodes, 23, of Phyllis Avenue, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (the credit card), fourth-degree possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration and several vehicle infractions.
