NIAGARA FALLS – Help from neighbors who witnessed suspicious activity led to the capture of a man suspected of burglarizing a Linwood Avenue home Monday and stealing guns.

Q’nique M. McCrimmon, 19, of Ontario Avenue, was charged with three felonies – second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property – as well as and petit larceny just before 10 p.m., after he was stopped in the 2200 block of Ontario Avenue, city police said.

Three handguns and a starter pistol, valued at $1,300, had been reported stolen just before noon at a home in the 2400 block of Linwood.

Police tracked footprints in the snow and spoke to neighbors who recalled seeing a man walking through yards. They provided officers with a similar description.

McCrimmon, who matched the description, was located and questioned. He was taken into custody at gunpoint and was found carrying a handgun in the right front pocket of his jeans, police said.
