Olympic marathon runner Meb Keflezighi will speak in a special video lecture at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the Fairdale Banquet Center in Williamsville. Keflezighi will speak via video broadcast and take questions from Western New York runners.

Keflezighi won the silver medal at the 2004 Olympic marathon and once won the New York City marathon. His family left the country of Eritrea and came to the United States during Keflezighi’s childhood.

GYMNASTICS: The Orchard Park Gymsters came away with 163 medals from Early State Championships held in Elmira last weekend. Gold medal winners included: Julia Pupko, Isabella Farina, Brooke Walker, Madison Connors, Paige Zaifert, Emily Winter, Isabella Florea, Hannah Ross, and Mary Masman. Silver medal winners were: Kelsey Zabawa, Natalie Wilkinson, Kaylee Organista, Jessica Carey, Caitlyn McLaughlin, Rachel Donaldson, Ella Weiss, Isabella Farina, Paige Zaifert, Emily Winter, Hannah Ross, and Hanna Chmielowicz. Bronze medal winners included: Jordyn Moonan, Payton Rowe, Madison Wild, Taylor Jones, Liz Diorio, Natalie Jerge, Kelsey Zabawa, Abby Low, Alivia Penman, Lea Reino, Ella Whitney, Megan Flanigan, Olivia Groth, Hannah Ross, Hanna Chmielowicz, and Mary Masman.

SOFTBALL: ECC will hold a coaching clinic March 3 from 1-5 p.m. at the North Campus gym, Main and Youngs Road, Williamsville. Cost is $25 pre-registration and $30 the day of the clinic. Topics include throwing, hitting, bunting, infield and outfield work, pitching, and practice organization. There will also be a Q&A session about correctives and difficult situations.
