A Lockport woman and mother of two who worked as an office manager in her husband’s medical practice was identified by Lockport police Monday as the person found unconscious at 6 a.m. Saturday in front of the Niagara County Infirmary on Davison Road. No foul play is suspected.

Dawn M. Jehrio, 43, of Bonner Drive, died later that morning. She lived in the southeastern part of Lockport, near where she was found. Her husband, Lockport internist Gregory Jehrio, has his medical practice on Davison Road.

Police said her body temperature was low when she was found by fire and rescue personnel. She was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital and pronounced dead at 10:51 a.m.

She had last been seen Friday night after visiting a sick friend in that same hospital. Lockport Chief of Detectives Capt. Richard L. Podgers would not speculate why she was outside Saturday morning.

“They live nearby, but we spoke to family and nobody knows why she was out there,” Podgers said Monday.

An autopsy was performed Monday at Erie County Medical Center and the cause of death is listed as pending awaiting the results of toxicology.
