NIAGARA FALLS – A Lewiston man faces traffic charges in the continuing investigation of the minor injuries suffered by a state trooper when the man lost control of his car on snow and ice on Interstate-190 Monday morning near Niagara Falls Boulevard.

State Police from the Town of Niagara barracks, who would not released the name of the trooper, confirmed he was treated and released from Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston shortly after the 8:10 a.m. crash.

Eric Smith, age unavailable, of Lewiston, was charged with failure to keep right and speed not reasonable and prudent for road conditions. The crash investigation continues, troopers said.
