The executive director of the Statewide School Finance Consortium will spearhead a discussion at a joint school boards meeting Monday evening in the town of Cheektowaga.

Dr. Rick Timbs will address current issues facing local school districts – specifically, Cheektowaga-Central, Cheektowaga-Sloan, Cleveland Hill and Maryvale, which will be represented at the 6:30 p.m. meeting in the Cleveland Hill High School auditorium, 105 Mapleview Road.

Besides providing an overview of school funding statewide, Timbs is also expected to cover “financial and educational insolvency, school reorganization, unfunded mandates and the erosion of aid to schools,” according to local school boards’ advance announcements for the meeting.

The general public is encouraged to attend the meeting, which will include participation by board of education members from the four above-mentioned districts that are wholly located in the town of Cheektowaga.
